THIS MESSAGE SERVES TO INFORM ALL SOUTH AFRICAN CITIZENS LIVING ABROAD ABOUT THE REGISTRATION WITH INDEPENDENT ELCTORAL COMMISSION (IEC) TO VOTE IN THE 2019 GENERAL ELECTION
Kindly be informed that the South African Embassy in Moscow, Russian Federation will open for the registration of the South Africans living abroad in conjunction with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC). The target group for this registration is only those citizens who have never registered with the IEC before, i.e. if a citizen has just turned 18 years of age or first time voters).
South African citizens are also encouraged to check whether they are registered on the voters’ roll through the website of the Electoral Commission (EC) at www.elections.org.za
Requirements for Registration:
- An ID document or Smart ID card or Valid Temporary ID Certificate (TIC)
- A valid passport.
- Apply to register in person at the South African Embassy.
- Applicant to complete a REC1/OC form.

Opening Times/Periods
The registration process will open from 01 June to 30 September 2018. Citizens should report to the Reception between 09:30 – 16:00 (Monday- Friday).
