The President of the Russian Federation, HE Vladimir Putin addressed the nation on the coronavirus pandemic for the first time on Wednesday, 25 March 2020. In his address, he declared a nation wide week closure for all non-essential services from 28 March - 05 April 2020 with all international flights suspended indefinitely.
Subsequently, on Thursday 02 Aprll 2020, the President addressed the nation again pronouncing an extention of the lockdown to 30 April 2020 for all non-essential workers.
The Embassy of South Africa in the Russian Federation in its response decided to suspended it's normal operations for the said period in compliance with the domestic regulations.
