If a child travels alone without parents / or with one parent / relative / accompanying person an applicant must provide:
- a copy of a notary certified birth certificate along with its notary certified translation
- a copy of a notary certified consent of non-accompanying parent along with its notary certified translation
If a child travels with both parents, a copy of a notary certified birth certificate along with its notary certified translation is required.
If one of the parents holds a passport which is exempted from a visa to the Republic of South Africa (List of visa exempted countries) you must provide:
- a copy of a notary certified birth certificate along with its notary certified translation
- a copy of a notary certified consent of non-accompanying parent along with its notary certified translation from a parent who is from the list of visa exempted countries (List of visa exempted countries).
